Biography

Dr Alberto Salmoiraghi qualified in medicine and surgery at the University of Milan. He had the opportunity to write a thesis in experimental research in psychiatry. He joined Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in 2007 as a Consultant Psychiatrist of the Home Treatment Team and Community Mental Health Team. He has progressed as Clinical Lead for East, Head of Acute Care and is currently the Medical Director for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division in North Wales. He is also the clinical lead for the Huntington’s Disease clinic. He is actively involved in research and teaching and obtained the title of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and Bangor University, visiting professor at Wrexham University. He is the vice Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Wales.
