Biography

Rex Haigh is a retired NHS medical psychotherapist who studied social sciences, and then trained in medicine, general practice, psychiatry, psychotherapy, group analysis and therapeutic communities. He has been involved with national policy work on personality disorder services, and he founded the international quality network ‘Community of Communities’ and the ‘Enabling Environments’ award at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is an Honorary Professor of Therapeutic Environments at Nottingham University and is involved with several voluntary sector mental health organisations, in the UK and abroad. His professional interests are relational practice, ecotherapy, immersive training, adapted therapeutic communities, enabling environments, and co-production with experts by experience.
